Superior Dutch-built aluminium Koopmans 50, designed by the renowned Dick Koopmans Sr. A major refit in 2022 and ideally suited for a dream cruise!

Built in 1990, in the water since 1992, purchased by last owner at de Valk Yachtbrokers in Hindeloopen in 2015. Since then many changes/renovations have been made, including; 

3 x 250 AH batteries (Gel)

New Raymarine plotter incl. radar and AIS

New genoa, including new furlex system (via Sailselect, Uithoorn)

In 2021/2022, "HORIZON" underwent a full refit at Jachtwerf Brouwershaven, to make her ready for "full liveaboard". The total investment amounted to more than EUR 100,000. In short, it amounted to the following work;

The hull was completely done, incl some new patches welded in, to maintain a full 8 mm all around. At the same time, new TruDesign skin feeders/valves were installed. Complete new painting and additional & new anodes installed. 

Engine water cooler overhaul, full inspection, double filters installed.

Teak deck removed, replaced with beautiful and maintenance-free Flexiteak

Kiel raise modified with electric hydraulic lift (was manual hydraulic)

Windows renewed, new screens inside

Travelers renewed, all sheets & halyards replaced

New bimini and splash screens

Registered in 2023 (Dutch flag), she was branded and microdots were applied to the ship.

Fresh antifouling in 2024 and then a new anchor winch (Lofrans 1700) was also installed, including remote control with counter.

Boat is equipped with many spare parts, even a completely new propeller is on board!

The "HORIZON" is a beautiful and classic "Koopmans" design, and almost in new condition, with many upgrades. Her unique positive transom, modified by the previous owner, gives her much more living space outside. She sails beautifully, no sea is too high, no wind too strong. She was the faithful companion for almost 10 years, and for the last three years has been partly the previous owner's home.
