Wabi Sabi is a third generation Atlantic 49 MastFoil catamaran. The patented MastFoil rig has the advantage of being one of the easiest to sail designs. The MastFoils are rigid sails that combined with the self tacking jibs provide similar sailing performance to a conventional sloop rig without the difficulty of hoisting, reefing, gybing and furling a mainsail.
In addition there is a bowsprit with a single line furler and a screecher that can be set or stowed easily.
The forward cockpit provides excellent visibility, ease of all sailing functions, visibility to deploy or haul the anchor , and superb safety.
When conditions warrant retreat to the inside pilothouse where there is a completely protected helm station with excellent visibility.
Wabi Sabi is constructed of vacuum bagged Epoxy-Vinylester resin and high performance glass fiber cored with PVC foam. Carbon fiber is used in all the high load areas and Kevlar is used strategically to improve resistance to penetration. The aft hardtop is carbon fiber over foam. The hull is faired and finished with Alexseal linear polyurethane. The hull is Kingston Grey and the topsides are Matterhorn White with a Safety orange bootstripe. The bottom features fixed keels built from glass over solid foam and attached to a finished hull. They can support the weight of the boat during beaching and protect the propellers and rudders.
All forward and side windows in the salon are tempered glass for lifetime scratch and UV resistance. The windows have 3M Ceramic film for heat and Ultraviolet Light reduction and they also have Dometic Oceanaire reflective blinds for heat rejection and privacy.
WabiSabi is a first quality build and equipped to go anywhere in safety and comfort.
Hulls, decks, bulkheads and pilothouse are constructed from vacuum bagged Epoxy-Vinylester resin and high performance glass fiber laminate cored with PVC foam.

Each hull has a collision bulkhead forward. In event of collision damage to the forward part of the hull water will not flood the hull past the collision bulkhead. In addition, in the event of capsize the collision bulkhead is designed to keep the hull forepeak dry allowing a safe habitation place for the crew. The starboard hull incorporates an "escape hatch" on the inboard hull side adjacent to the collision bulkhead which allows easy access into the boat should capsize occur.
