The new Helmsman Trawlers 46 Pilothouse extends the Helmsman Trawlers line in several key dimensions -- extended range, greater comfort, more passengers, and enhanced seagoing capability.
All Helmsman Trawlers feature proven, solid construction methods, exceptional craftsmanship, abundant use of quality materials, and capable, modern, wide-beam hull designs.
Designed by Vancouver-based naval architect Ivan Erdevicki, this model is designed for a CE Class A Rating -- to expand the scope of your cruising adventures. With a fully-loaded displacement of 55,000 lbs and a 16'3" beam this is a substantial boat. Sturdy construction, simple, reliable systems, top-quality equipment and materials, and a stable, efficient hull shape, coupled with Helmsman's exceptional standards fro quality make this a remarkable value in a serious long-range cruiser.
This wide-beam design has a stunning interior -- in appearance and volume -- with abundant natural light and ventilation. The salon rivals 55+ footers, and accommodations include a spacious owners' stateroom with ensuite head and separate shower. A variety of guest accommodation layouts are available. The U-shaped galley is open to the salon and includes plenty of refrigerator and freezer capacity, storage volume and countertop space. The pilothouse has excellent visibility, seating for six while underway, and offers an open connection with the salon for ease of movement and communication. The flybridge is easily and safely accessed by secure stairs on both sides, and the foredeck includes integral fender and line storage lockers and cushioned exterior seating. The large cockpit is fully covered against rain and sun, and features cockpit side-entry doors and an entertainment / storage cabinet.
A single-engine full-keel design with a sturdy protective skeg, protected running gear and proportional bow and stern thrusters make for reliable and straightforward operation.
As with all Helmsman Trawlers construction quality is evidenced by thick deck sections, deep gel coat, sturdy welded double-rung rails, quality hardware, abundant teak (on the interior only!) and extraordinary fit and finish.
Standard propulsion is a Cummins QSC8.3 litre 493 hp electronically-controlled common rail engine. Other QSC8.3 ratings up to 600 hp are available, as are John Deere 6090SFM85 engines in ratings from 425 to 550 hp.
The base price includes a Northern Lights 9 kw generator and many features that would be options with other manufacturers.
Minimal exterior maintenance and reliable, economical propulsion systems allow owners to spend more time cruising. A wide range of options and custom configurations are available for order. We’d like to talk with you about your ideas!
Price is for the base model, delivered U.S. east or west coast, including all U.S. duties. Subsequent transportation may be additional. Canadians and other non-U.S. residents should inquire about pricing for non-U.S. deliveries.
