1979 SeaCraft 23 Center Console7m

This 1978 23 SeaCraft center console was originally custom built for use as a tournament marlin fishing boat. The current owner is the second owner, having purchased the vessel in the 1980s.

Highlights include:

• Autopilot
• Pompanette outriggers
• Pompanette custom captains's chairs
• Custom oversized bait bag
• Custom tower with controls, gauges, radio and T-top
• Removable canvas cover and removable cushions at bow area
• Removable isinglass panels, which connect to the stbd and port sides of the tower (panels roll up)

The owner has extensively fished the boat both in Southern California and Mexico. It includes a Vanson trailer.

The vessel was rebuilt from the hull up, including having a Volvo diesel, mounted in the center console with a jack shaft connecting the motor to a Volvo DuoProp outdrive. The owner has invested heavily in outfitting the boat to make it an excellent and efficient fishing boat.

The 23 Seacraft is currently in Costa Mesa, CA where it is being stored in a private yard. (Note, storage space is not available as part of the purchase of this vessel)

The boat has been serviced by Fishing Boats Unlimited in Costa Mesa (they built the boat and the tower). 

With its single diesel Volvo, this 23 Seacraft gets great fuel economy - not something you commonly see in a center console fishing boat!

The boat trailer is a Vanson, 4-wheel galvanized trailer. The tires are new. The leaf springs and drum brakes have about 750 miles on them. Note that the trailer’s drum brakes aren’t in working condition.

This Seacraft is a great vessel for someone looking for a diesel center console. Note that it needs an updated chart plotter/depth sounder - updating the electronics onboard would really make it shine. The owner has put quite a bit of time, attention, thought and money into this vessel and it really shows.
